Lock Washer
Lock washers are typically made of spring steel or Belleville spring steel and have a high spring rate to ensure they compress easily and provide a consistent compressive force on the fastener. They are commonly used in applications where a high spring rate is necessary, such as with fasteners made of materials that have a low coefficient of friction or are difficult to grip, or for extremely large or fastening gap dimensions. Lock washers are also commonly used in applications where a high tensile load is necessary to maintain a tight fit and prevent loosening of the fastener.
